Dr Caitriona Waters

Originally from Cornamona in the beautiful connemara, Caitriona graduated from NUI Galway in 2001. She pursued vocational training in General Practice on the Western General Practice training scheme and was awarded MICGP in 2007. Caitriona established Seapoint Medical Centre in 2010.

Qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Child Health (DCH)

  • Diploma in Women's Health & Obstetrics (DoWH)

  • Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly (DME)

  • Certificate of Family Planning & Long Acting Contraception

  • Diploma in Dermatology (Cardiff University)

  • Certificate in Travel Health

 

Dr Martina Killeen

Martina obtained her medical degree in NUI Galway. She completed the Midlands GP training scheme, where she worked in the specialities of Paediatrics, Medicine, Medicine of the Elderly, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Psychiatry, and Dermatology.

She is a General Practitioner (GP) since 2007 and joined us here at Seapoint Medical Centre in 2012. 

Martina has been awarded diplomas in medicine of the elderly, child health, women's health and dermatology. She has a certificate in family planning and is competent in the insertion and removal of Intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants . 

Other qualifications include

  • Diploma in Child Health (DCH)

  • Diploma in Women's Health (DOWH)

  • Certificate in family planning

  • Diploma in Dermatology (Cardiff University)

Dr Richie Baggott

Limerick native Richie graduated from NUI Galway in 2003. He pursued a career in Respiratory Medicine and in the following years, Anaesthesia (Critical Care). He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland) in 2007. Richie assisted in the set up of the Medical Assessment Unit at UHG in 2009 and became the first full-time doctor to run the unit.

He completed his GP training with the Western Training Programme in General Practice. As part of this training he undertook a specialist 6-month module in Galway Hospice Foundation, Renmore in the field of Palliative Medicine.

His areas of interest include men's health, respiratory, cardiac medicine and Endocrinology. He also has a keen interest in paediatrics and health promotion.

Nurse Doreen Eaton

Doreen qualified as a Registered General Nurse in London in 1986 and as a Midwife in 1989. Following a 12 year period of Practice Nursing in North London, Doreen relocated to Galway and has been a Practice Nurse in County Galway since 2005.

Doreen is qualified and experienced in: Childhood immunisations, travel health, womens health, sexual health screening, wound care, chronic disease management, phlebotomy/venesection and is registered with the cervical screening programme.

 

Nurse Corionna Corcoran

Corionna joined us here at Seapoint Medical Centre during 2023.

Corionna is qualified and experienced in: Childhood immunisations, travel health, womens health, sexual health screening, wound care, chronic disease management, phlebotomy/venesection and is registered with the cervical screening programme.

Caroline King

Caroline originally from Claremorris in Co Mayo joined us at Seapoint Medical Centre during 2023 as our Practice Coordinator.

Caroline brings a wealth of managerial experience with her to her role which entails managing the day to day running of our busy GP Practice.

Our three experienced Practice Administrators take care of our reception desk.

Sylvia & Deirbhile are both local to the area and possess a wealth of local knowledge and Katie is from Inverin. All three are a vital part of the daily workings of our busy medical practice. On the phone or in person at our main reception, they ensure you are well looked after. They offer our clinicians important support each day.
